Sales Section Rules ****MUST READ***** HEY! That means YOU!

Post by Wolfwood » Thu Dec 22, 2005 10:45 am

Minnesota Airsoft Association Discussion Board SALES Section Rules of Usage & Conduct:

The MAA reserves the right to lock, delete or alter any post at our discretion. We will never alter a post maliciously (IE: Change a Price) but we will correct formatting and spelling if needed. The Sales Section is a service the MAA provides the local Airsoft community but it does have guidelines. ANY deviation from the set guidelines will result in the immediate locking and or deletion of the offending post.

1. Only posts relating to Airsoft are allowed. No posts on trading non-Airsoft for Airsoft. No paintball sales. All sales that do not meet this requirement will be locked and deleted within 24 hours.

*Sales of non-Airsoft related items can be posted in the Off Topic Section.

Approved List of Items:
- Airsoft Guns
- Tactical Gear: Vests, LBE's, Backpacks, Helmets, Holsters, Gloves, etc.
- Flashlights & Lasers
- Radios/Comms
- Safety Gear: Goggles, Full Face Masks, etc.
- Miscellaneous Airsoft Related Equipment: Trips, Claymores, Smoke Bombs

If you're not sure if your item should be sold in the Sales section, post it in the Off Topic Section or PM a Discussion Board Moderator and ask.

2. Post Titles MUST include the appropriate heading, i.e.
- WTS = Want to Sell
- WTB = Want to Buy
- NTS = NEED to Sell
- EBAY = Link to EBay Auction
- DTT = Sales from the Retailer Downtown Tactical
- OLYMPUS = Sales from the Retailer Olympus Armory

IE: "WTS: USED Marui M16", "WTT: MP5 for any AR Variant", "WTS: Woodland Helmet Cover"

WTB Sales are allowed but MUST BE SPECIFIC.
Allowed: "WTB: Bieta Spetz", "WTB: G3 Solid Stock", "WTB: G&P M16 Midcap"
Not Allowed: "WTB: Cheap AEG"
WTB posters CANNOT DICTATE PRICE. Sellers set the price. If you post a WTB, you get what ever Sellers want to post. Your budget is not their concern.

EBAY Links to Sales are allowed but are to be considered more of an FYI Post.

3. Sellers set their own price. If you are not involved or interested in a specific Sale, keep out of it. If you don?t like their price, too bad. That is what they set it at. No one cares what price you've seen elsewhere, what you've paid before, or what you think the price should be. If you're not a part of the Sale, keep your pie hole shut.

4. No flaming or defamation of a Sales Post or a Seller without PERSONAL experience with the item or seller. I.E. "Seller ABC received my money but never sent the item and it's been 6 months" or "Seller XYZ sold me a gun that was broken and missing pieces, but he sold it as new". You are NOT allowed to chime in if your friend got ripped off or if you heard from a friend of a friend that a seller was bad. Again, if you are not involved directly in the Sale, keep out of it.

5. Sales posts will stay on the board as long as they have had activity in the past 30 days. Any posts with no activity will be deleted.

6. All Sales MUST HAVE A PRICE. Sellers are not allowed to fish for prices or bids. Most honest sellers know what they want for their item/s, so they should post that price. If a Seller honestly has no idea what price they should sell their item for, it is their responsibility to do the research to find a price they are comfortable with. NO EXCEPTIONS.

7. No Auctions. If you want to sell an item, sell it. If you want to do an Auction, post it on EBay or somewhere else.

8. Offending Topics & Posts will be deleted, modified, and or corrected based purely on the discretion of the moderator. This is an open ended rule as moderators have a choice but if you want to make sure your post stays up, follow the rules from the start.

9. All Sales Topics are deleted automatically after 30 days of inactivity. This is a setting of the Dboard.

10. Sales topic rehashing or "BUMP"ing is not allowed. If you want your items to sell; lower your price, offer a different deal, separate items if in a package, or sell it elsewhere. The fact that you're item is not getting any interest, regardless of how many times you bring attention to it, should be an indication to change your method. To be blunt, no one cares about your NEED to sell an item. Change your sale or let it die. It's as simple as that.

11. You must have your age and location posted in your profile to sell. Topics without this information will be locked or deleted until you follow this rule.

The Minnesota Airsoft Association does not condone the sale of Airsoft guns to minors without parental acknowledgment. It is the responsibility of the Seller to insure all legal aspects of sales are adhered to. We will be monitoring sales and when necessary involving the proper authorities should illegal activity take place. Just be responsible when you sell Airsoft guns.

* Sellers and Buyers with a history of negative dealings will be refused access to the Minnesota Airsoft Association Sales Section and depending on the severity of offense/s banned from the Minnesota Airsoft Association Discussion Board.

Post updated. Sellers and Buyers are responsible for knowing the rules. Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse.

Know them, follow them, or don't cry when we lock and/or delete your posts.

NEW ADDITION: FEBRUARY 28, 2008

Lately we have been seeing some words misused in sales posts...for example, "mint condition.

While I understand that descriptions are subjective, I would like to propose that sellers use the following terms to describe the condition of their items, to avoid any misunderstandings:

NEW or, NIB (New in Box) or MINT: Not previously sold at retail, in same condition as current factory production. Never used, still in the original box, never fired. All accompanying accessories, literature, and box included.

"AS NEW" or "PERFECT": In New condition in every respect, however the original box and accessories may be missing.

EXCELLENT: New condition, used very little, no noticeable marring of the finish or wear on parts.

VERY GOOD: In perfect working condition, no appreciable wear on working surfaces, no corrosion or pitting, only minor surface dents or scratches.

GOOD: In safe working condition, minor wear on working surfaces, no broken parts, no corrosion or pitting that will interfere with proper functioning.

FAIR: In safe working condition but well worn, perhaps requiring replacement of minor parts or adjustments which should be indicated in advertisement, no rust, but may have corrosion pits which do not render article unsafe or inoperable. Some parts may be missing or broken, but nothing that will impair function.

POOR: Broken, poorly refinished, missing parts, nonfucntional, heavily rusted and pitted, or otherwise generally undesirable. Suitable only for parts.

All members of this board need to read these rules, specifically #11.
