Definitely on the "to get" list. Did you also catch the stoner?

I saw the Stoner, but they have had that listed as "in progress" for almost 2 years IIRC.

I SUPER want the Stoner though....If fact I'm not sure which I want more, the CAR15 or the Stoner...I guess I'll just have to buy both, assuming they both make it to market.

I'm pumped that G&P is putting out the XM177 again. Looks like the SPR just got bumped down the list.

Nice sales tactic! Selling new guns recently shown in a popular video game...
But really, they both look sweet. Especially that CAR-15.

What video game are you referring to? I don't play many and have yet to see one with Nam era guns.

I assume you are referring to CODBLOPS. The guns in that game are horribly innacurate and anachronistic. Almost no gun in that game is properly modeled or existed during the time period the game takes place.

Back to the original topic - YAAAY CAR15! Although I already have a custom built XM607.

Agreed, video games will never have realistic firearms in them, because they are virtual. COD especially, since it's more of a Hollywood video game. Fun game though.

Back to topic, what is an XM607? I Googled it and it looked almost the same as a CAR-15, but shorter. Is that correct?

Good reference for early and experimental AR15 models:

http://retroblackrifle.com/

Before the development of the XM177, armorers in Vietnam were experimenting with carbine designs. One of these was the XM607. Most 607's look like the gun that the Airsoft world calls the CAR15, but they also existed with other furniture and stocks. Because the XM607 was a transitional gun, and many were cobbled together in country, there generally is a lot of variance between samples.

Prior to the adoption of the M4, the term "CAR-15" is applied to just about any short-barreled AR15 carbine, including the XM607, XM177, and 720 series guns (the models which predated the M4). These same guns are also commonly called the "Colt Commando." The USAF has similar guns, which are commonly called "GAUs."

My gun was built specifically for my 'Nam impression. The governance is: my persona is an Air Cav officer, and I had my armorer build the gun from spare parts after seeing it in action with Scout teams.

HOT DAMN BOYS!

I just happened to pick up a G&P Stoner .... I don't have a camera on hand, but the finish is great! Besides the weak link on the stock, everything is quite solid.

best of all, I popped in a 11.1v 15C battery and I got a result of 125m/s at 1500+ rpm (.2g bb)

the gear sounds smooth and crisp, I haven't heard G&P internal quality sound this good.

obviously, I had a wicked smirk on my face after pulling the trigger. I still have it as of writing this....

Definately pick one up if you have the chance!
git some! Git Some!! GIT SOME!!!
