VC load-out

Post by Jesse » Thu Apr 30, 2009 2:28 pm

I am looking to buying some VC "ao ba ba" pajamas....I cant seem to find anyplace online. Also does anyone know where to find a VC canteen and chi com ak shoulder bag (the one that holds 5 ak mags)?

Basically I am looking to do a true VC load-out. I know some just use hospital scrubs, but I am going for the true look. Any ideas or sites?

yeah I have been reading there. I found one place that sells the pajama's for $60, but alot of people say they are very poor quality.

I have been searching for days on that shoulder bag but cant seem to find anyone that sells them, which is hard to believe.

I have found a place that has the canteen, rice hat, and boots.

I am just amazed that with all the nam style games out there over the years, that there isn't more information on this.

I got my shoulder bag and Chi-com rig from Cheaper Than Dirt. Sportsman's Guide sometimes has them as well.
I'd be interested in the boots you've found.

The second pair are not really VC, but look fairly close to the PAVN ones.

I am looking at going with this for the PJ's

Just because I dont want to spend $50+ on these when I have heard they are cheaply made, though were the same used in "we were soldiers"!

There are boots that are almost the exact same as that here in Minnesota at a surplus store called "Ax Man" ( i think ) in St. Paul and go for about 5 bucks.

US jungle boots (the green ones) are acceptable for VC, though are a better option for NVA.

From my airsofter's guide to PAVN/PLAF uniforms (http://midwestairsofters.com/index.php? ... ic=16076.0)
During the war, the US had teams of operators crossing the Laotian and Cambodian borders to recon, track, and eliminate PAVN strongholds, camps and the Ho Chi Minh Trail on the other side of the border, in those supposedly 'neutral' countries. These operators, belonging to the “Studies and Observations Group” (SOG), needed to find ways to keep PAVN trackers from sounding the alarm when US boot prints were spotted across the border (especially since SOG was outnumbered 800 to 1).

The most successful solution was to drop literally thousands of pairs of US jungle boots left behind at MASH units by medevaced GIs over the PAVN base areas in Laos and Cambodia, in the hope that PAVN soldiers would wear the US boots and make the print common. This worked, and one SOG recon team even brought back a PAVN prisoner wearing US boots.
