I was thinking of doing an SS impression but I think I'll use velcro for the different branch-specific insignia. Count me in as interested. Did you post something also on the WW2airsoft boards because I think I read something about it as well.

Finaly, I can shoot me some REAL jerries.
So, as Woodstock rocked on and the boomers got all wild on their weed, the M16 continued to be, and continues to be, the military's weapon of choice - for some weird, unexplainable reason

Guten tag! Ich heisse...heisse... I have to improve my german! Any reccomendations for a good language course? Did any of the Heer units use the type II oak camo? I ask because I got a reproduction paratrooper smock in that pattern-couldn't find a splinter one.

I'm sure it's possible but I couldn't find any evidence through my exhausting search (ie looking at http://www.deutschesoldaten.com/ for 30 seconds). I guess it'd be up to Herr Unionman, assuming that he'd be our gruppenf?hrer if we ever got together and played dress-up.

How strict do you want to get right away? This is about no. 2 or 3 on impressions I want to get done, I already have some (I think actually west german instead of east) jackboots along with some parade officer boots. I'm also going to get an AGM MP-40 but other then that I'm open to whatever people would like to do.

Count me in as interested.

I've just started putting together a Fallschirmjager impression...I'll have to make up my mind.

unionman wrote:Please allow me to help :) Nothing against folks who decide to pursue "elite" impressions, but have you noticed that the majority of airsoft groups are Airborne, Rangers, SS etc? Remember, it's called WW2 airsoft, not Band of Brothers airsoft :)

A line infantry impression is versatile and "correct" for more scenarios.
Yes. If history lessons depended soley on re-enactments, we'd be lead to believe World War Two was fought between mostly the Waffen SS and Paratroopers with spades on their helmets.

..which is why I was interested in a fallschirmjager impression. Sure there were a few in Band of Brothers, but it's a bit different than a seemingly "traditional" SS impression.

Erixon, have you checked out ww2airsoft.com? They have a lot of guys who do FJ impressions.

I really was thinking of trying to start a Waffen SS (I already have officer boots  ) group but I'm really driven by the enthusiasm for a Heer group and don't mind slugging it out as a basic Soldat.

I with you on the feldgrau looking sharper than the camo of the SS. I'm still definitely interested in this. In the long run, I can put together both impressions, finances pending.

Well if by modern you mean WWII then yes, looks like the 17th SS in Il. is my only other choice, unless if I want to join the many different local U.S. teams around.

I think there might be enough interest to at least get a squad together but as for me there are some things I'd like to get to make a halfways decent US impression before I take the German plunge so it'll obviously take some time but I think the enthusiasm is there for a group. Right now it's kind of like the sparks before the fire starts to spread.

From what I saw of you last Ashtaroth, you had a pretty good impression going. Yes a small group would be nice.
