Post by Chadwick » Tue Oct 03, 2006 10:41 am

Well, after a long time of collecting, I can officialy say that my WWII set up is complete.
here it is.
Thompson 5x highcaps 1x stand.
1911 x3 mags

now for the uniform

M43 field jacket
web belt
1936 suspenders
1911 Bolen holster
pistol mag pouch
Entrenching tool
canteen, cup
leggings
M1 helmet
SMG pouch, 30 rnd type, (also a great dump pouch)
M3 combat knife
KA-BAR (infantry soldiers carried catch as catch can, so yes, it is appropriate)
M6 leather scabbord.
combat pants

Pictures will be on the way.

This thread aint cool without pics! but I cant post pics of my loadout right now, my web host for photos is down.

Heres my complete Nam loadout, or at least as complete as I want it.. not gonna bother with a rucksack or sleeping gear, or flak vest.... basically a functional "fighting loadout" that works for airsoft and is historically accurate enough that you could drop me into any Nam movie like Platoon or FMJ and I wouldnt look out of place (then again, those movies had a couple historical innacuracies gear wise... haha)

Loadout Consists of:

-M1 steel pot helmet w/ mitchell cover, helmet band, button that says "Stop the Draft" on it... lol

-M1956 LCE, (compass pouch, H- suspenders, web belt, 2 canteen pouches, 2 mag pouches, buttpack)

-7 Pocket Bandolier

-3rd pattern jungle fatigue set, OG107

-Jungle combat boots, panama sole(late war style)

-M16A1 Vietnam Version, 5 VN hicaps or somthing

-OD socks

-OD rain poncho

Well, I don't have a very good loadout, but this has been an idea on my mind scince I started playing airsoft. I don't have a job, so it's hard to get enough money for the real thing, or remakes because they are so expensive. Weapons don't match up with them yet, either. I am hoping to get a Thompson or M16 A1 eventually.

(guy on the right -- not me, but we ordered our uniforms together...I have the exact same thing.)

As I am working on my nam loadout too, does anyone know where to get the correct BDU pattern. I can't for the life of me find a good site for them.

Make sure you're buying the right thing our you'll just be wasting your money. For nam you want 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Pattern OG107 poplin jungle fatigues.

moore-militaria.com has reproductions that look real accurate.

I'm going to be getting a WWII American and German kit and also a Vietnam American kit as well. I think it'd be a great idea to have some WWII/Nam re-enactments. I've been to both of the ones that FM Airsoft hosts and I'd definitely go to a historically-themed op in Minnesota, Iowa or Wisconsin. One of the mods should start a thread for these topics since there's already a SWAT one. I've been looking at the threads on WW2airsoft.com but they're scattered all over the u.s.

lord ashtaroth, if u want to join a ww2 re-enactors unit, u can join the 45th infantry with me, or u can find ur own on the ww2aa site: http://ww2aa.proboards45.com/index.cgi

and i have gotten the last items for my impression i have:

light assault jacket, OD
od pants (i am opting not for the real garbs cuz they are dry clean only.... no thank you.)
m1 helmet
helmet netting
m1939 type 2 service shoes
m1938 leggings
m1936 pistol belt
m1910 canteen cover
metal canteen and cup (ww2 repo)
spare magazine bag
bag, m-1 ammuntition
2 smg rigger pouches
colt .45 pistol holster
m1928 haversack (not recieved yet but has been ordered)

weapons:
m1a1 thompson sub-machinegun (tokyo marui)
m1911a1 colt .45 semi-automatic pistol (tokyo marui gbb)
m1 garand rifle (marushin gbb)

will post picks of it later.

Yeah but those guys are spread out all over the place, both the 45th and the WW2AA guys (though I do visit their respective sites quite often). I figure that there are a lot of guys (and gals?) already on these boards who are interested in Nam and WW2 re-enactments so we should just start a thread so we can dork out. That's just my two-cents.

Red leader.

I watched Saving Private Ryan last night and you are the spitting image. I can see you in the french countryside.

One nit-pick though. What is your finger doing inside the trigger guard on pic #1?

heres a couple more pics to get people excited about reenactment airsoft loadouts:

___________________________________________________________^^^ and Cotton has the right pants for a Nam loadout. Since he's buyin an M79 it'd be really awesome if he put together a Nam loadout too.

(BTW Cotton I got a size large jacket in new conditon to match those pants, all you'd need is Jungle boots, M1956 web gear, and a Mitchell Pattern helmet cover for your helmet, PM me if you're interested in the jacket)

I've got a set of OG107s I'll be replacing the BDUs with, and I need to weather the holster and add some other bits - but it's coming together quite nicely.

Full-metal conversion parts for the XM177 are on order :D
