I am rocking 5 hi-caps and 8 mid caps and bringing 2 M4's

To all recruits:

If you've got highcaps, bring em. Even if you don't use them all in the field bring them and store them in the barracks. You may find you might need them and you'll be glad you brought them.

Just checked all of my mags today, one was broken but now is fixed. Works flawlessly. Just in case though, I'll have some super glue in my bag. So, if you need super glue while at BATC, let me know

Essentially. The normal reload for a P90 using its mags is something I have never been to comfortable with (kind of awkward if you have been used to bottom reloads). I also only have 5 68 round mids that work, which is more of an inconvenience than anything. I love the gun, but I just don't have enough experience with it for this application.

No pressure, It's not like you'd be taking it to a training event where there's a group of highly experienced teachers to help you get experience enough to feel comfortable with your weapon or anything...

Just checker weather.com, no rain forecast saturday or sunday. Earlier forecasts had chances of rain on both days, but I guess not anymore. It does say that there will be "T-showers" friday night though. Also, lows are 43 and highs 66 and 67. Sounds good to me

Just to help everyone out, make sure you bring warm enough clothes for the mornings. When you are on the shooting grounds, the lake breeze can be pretty wicked, especially on fingers. Gloves are essential. Spare sets of uniforms are an excellent idea also, even if no rain is in the forecast. You will be getting dirty.

Good luck recruits, and have fun,

Building on what Lone said, last year I wore long underwear Saturday night and Sunday. It was cold and damp, and when you add a bit of a breeze and tiredness, it gets pretty freakin' cold. Sunday morning most people were wearing shamags for warmth, too. 43˚, combined with the predicted 12 - 18 mile an hour wind will suck if you don't bring the right clothes.

Sharpshot I have 4 MAG brand mids (170 BBs each) and a CA 300 BB hicap that you could use for your P90 if your M4 isn't working by Fri. Just let me know and I can bring them.

Yeah I was definitely shivering at the night game at Military Games, and although I don't know the temp then, it probably wasn't any colder than 40s. My gloves are nomex, but unfortunately are not very warm...more meant to fight heat than cold. Might be a good time to break out the balaclava if it gets too cold though. I'll definitely look to see if i have any of those hand warmers.

Well...seeing as I only have one uniform, I guess I can be rockin the "natural camouflage" muddy look with my ACU. I guess I'll bring my 5.11 TACPAT pants too, just because they almost look like ACU.

Oh...and Murphey's law applies and the low for saturday is now supposed to be 40...with winds at 20 miles an hour. Should be intense.

It looks like my M4 will be down for the time being, i am going to open it up tomorrow to see if I can think of anything. Dark zero has however agreed to let me use his CA army G36c with M4 Magwell.

Do you have space restrictions? If packing space is not an issue, I'd say bring the P90 anyway. Having to use a gun that you are not practiced with and don't have many mags for is still better than not having a gun to use at all.

This weekend was a beast! Thanks Eric and the rest of the Cadre you all instructed well. This is a great program and I hope you can offer it for many years to come. OPFOR thanks for "challenging" us to our wits end. Magnus thanks for being a great and generous squad leader. The BATC class of 05-10 we've raised the bar and had a fun doing it.

Such a good weekend. Thanks to the Cadre for training us, thanks to the OPFOR for kicking our asses if we didn't remember our training, thanks to Magnus for making sure we did remember our training, and thanks to Dark Zero for being a good fireteam leader and helping (/ making) the 200 squad move in when it was needed.

Oh, and thanks again Magnus for letting me borrow the M4 when mine went down, and thanks Dark Zero for helping me fix it during lunch

Hands down one of the best airsoft weekends I ever had, the course was excellent and has already made a tremendous change in how I view my role during operations and my views on what equipment I carry into the field. Big thanks to all the excellent instruction provided by the Cadre and the hard learned lessons administered by the OpFor. :D

That was an awesome weekend!!!! :D. Thank you to the Cadre for teaching us, and for giving me another chance. Thank you OPFOR for always keeping us on our toes. Thank you to all of the other recruits that led this class to becoming one of the best in BATC history. I especially want to thank Magnus for being the great squad leader that he was, and Viper for leading fireteam one. Congratulations guys, we earned every bit of that badge. I especially want to congratulate Mailman for not only being one of the youngest recruits to graduate, but also for being the youngest Honor Grad and being the only recruit in BATC history to bang kill an OPFOR!!!!

Congrats 05-10, I am extremely proud of how well we all pulled together on Sunday and fought as a team.

Erik, this was an amazing experience. Junshi, Tank, and Gabe did a great job instructing. Isaac, Cotton, Southern Bulldog, Sharkbait, Nilz, Rhino, Jesse, and Shady; you guys were wonderful as Junshi's "tool." I hope we didn't shoot you up too badly on the ITT lanes.

Viper and I made it back to Milwaukee around 10:00. I'm looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow.

That was an excellent, excellent course. I feel I've done a fairly good job of killing some bad-habits, and replacing them with some good ones.

Magnus, you did an absolutely wonderful job leading us. During the final mission you did an excellent job of delegating, planning our movements, and keeping us on mission. If you had one short-coming, it was that you pushed yourself too hard :D.

Fireteam-1, you guys did an excellent job during the final field training exercise. I know on day one we had our problems when it came to communication and moving as a group, but you guys really stepped up on day 2 and kicked ass. Mailman, you were the perfect choice for honor grad -- you made exceptional improvements through-out the weekend, and by day 2 were a very functional member of the squad (and got a bang-kill for cryin' out loud).

Cadre, as expected, you guys did a great job instructing. You managed to cram a lot of material in a very short amount of time, and I feel did a very good of managing the balance between gentle-encouragement and instruction vs. hammering us when we were being stupid.

OpFor, thanks for being human-targets all weekend, and hammering us when we were doing stupid stuff (only way to learn). The ITT stuff is probably pretty brutal for you guys, so thanks for putting up with that.

Record time completion of final FTX, 100% success rate.... right on, 05/10.

So the question is...which one of you is now going to lead the May 2011 BATC class to the next level? I know there are so many of you that I would've gladly followed that weekend, so get out there and show us that you're better!

I'm interested in doing it (or just doing BATC again because it was fun), but I'd have to see how the scheduling will shake out.

I'd love to, but it will depend on my work schedule as always ...

There were many great players last cycle that would be great RSL's. I however may be trying to be on the other side this time...
