Under Armour Boots

Post by Unknown Boom » Tue Jul 29, 2014 8:50 am

So lately I've been looking into getting some new boots and I saw that under armour makes some now and they caught my interest. Ive been looking at the valsets specifically in tan so I was wondering if anyone had experience or any input on these boots. Thanksin advance for the help.

Quite a few guys around here run them and swear by them. I know that Downtown does, and I'm pretty sure that MasterTCAA does as well.

Another couple of good options are the Converse Tactical boots:

or my boot of choice, the 5.11 A.T.A.C. boot:

I have had two sets of the A.T.A.C. boots and i not only wear them for airsoft but as my every-day footwear as well. They are comfortable, cool, and have side zips so I don't have to tie and untie my boots all the time.

I have a pair of the A.T.A.C. boots too, and they are pretty good. To add a recommendation, I would also consider Merrell MOAB Ventilators. They are extremely comfortable, as well as very breathable too. Any reason why you were looking into the Under Armour boots?

I tried a pair of the underarmors, was not a fan.

I prefer the Oakley boots. I have worn them for years and will continue to wear them. Only issue is the squeak on floors every once in a while.

The reason I was looking was because I had a friend that worked there and said they were comfortable but I figured I'd get another input and so far I see that he wasn't entirely correct. I might have to look into the atacs.

Your best bet is going to be to try on lots of different kinds/brands of boots and make a choice for yourself.

I guess I should elaborate. The pair I had was one of the 1st Gens, unknown if they have changed since then. They were comfy, almost like a tennis shoe, but they were... "crowded"? There was a lot of padding, too much for me, but maybe perfect for someone else. They were also warm the little time that I did wear them. They might be a perfect winter boot. I have my pair somewhere, I listed them for sale a long time ago and never got any bites.

I do believe, however, they don't fit with current (and newly pictured/revised) regs for Army boots. Not that we have anyone checking right now, but the Oakleys have always been within reg (as long as you get the .mil version and not the .civ with the metal "O").

The Valsetz boots are the most comfortable boot I have ever worn. However, they are SH*T! The fabric rips out with normal use. The toe stitching also rips apart.

But again, they are the most comfortable boot I own. Just not the most durable. Oakley is way better IMHO. But I am biased as I work for Oakley.
