It's Airsoft....protection is not so much a factor.
I rather use a "nightmare" that shoots like a dream over something that looks like a "dream" but shoots like a nightmare.

Don't fear the gun...fear the one that's wielding it!

Depends.

When I need to keep gas mags warm. I use a NJPC with warmers tucked inside the pouches to keep my mags warm''

For the heat of warm weather play. I use a Skeletal Molle Rig.

I'd say PC's are more realistic but chest rigs are light weight. Just a thought but a JPC is a little of both. Smaller more compact and less weight yet still the Plate Carrier look.

I wouldn't say PC's are more realistic... There are airsoft LBT 2586's & 1961's available on the market just to name a couple... (Although they are worn over 6094 slick)

The LBT Chest rigs are seen over the 6094a slick on some SF pics. About milsim: are you going for a specific time era or want to replicate a specific group's gear? If not, you have a lot of rigs/plate carriers to choose from...

So is a pantac USA chest rig ok for milsim? It's milsim like cause it has grenade pouches and a radio pouch.

Your question is very ambiguous; jeans, a t-shirt, and mags in pockets is ok for milsim depending on the game mechanics. Remember that milsim is a game style in airsoft, and is not used to describe what actual military units do or wear (at least not directly).

If you're trying to ask if a chestrig is acceptable for playing in a milsim oriented event? Generally speaking the answer is yes, but the specific rules for specific events may dictate what you can or can't use.

If you're trying to ask if a chestrig is acceptable to look like a real military operator? Then the answer is maybe. It depends on the particular unit and time period you're trying to create an impression of.

magkill all im saying is it depends on the operators mission. If hes doing some RECCE he will not want to carry plates that what chest rig are for so you dont always see them with a slick plate carrier.
