Great little guide McClane!
That'll go a long way toward helping anyone who might want to put together a relatively authentic looking Russian loadout. Putting together an accurate Russian loadout can be a nightmare for someone who is new to the scene, so a guide like this is an invaluable resource. Well done! :)

I'll be really looking forward to seeing the eventual updates with the more current issue gear and gun options too!

A site I've purchased WW2/GPW Russian items from, that also has modern/Afgan war items is www.tridentmilitary.com
Some of there reproduction stuff is a little pricey but it's all very well made and quite nice.

After doing some research I have decided to narrow my guide down to VDV(Airborne).
GRU Spetsnaz were often deployed to VDV units so the equipment list will be the same.

If you would like help with a setup outside the realm of VDV just let me know and I can assist you through PM's.

Thanks for the pics, they're most helpful.
If we end up putting together a Russian themed contingent did you imagine all of us being equipped the same/matching or were you thinking we'd equip our selves as we wanted.

I think we would choose an era and then be free to use what we wish from there.

I've been busy and not had much time to devote to the project lately. I am planning on adding to it in the next week or so. Does anyone have a specific time-frame they would like to see laid out?

Could you give us a current loadout? like, as of 2009?

Real quick. Do you have any pics or info on current Russian machine/support gunners? Ones that carry the RPK?
Thanks a lot.

The RPK has actually been fazed out of front line units for several years now. The support role is now filled by the PKM and PKA. I'll post up some pictures later today.

No, nothing directly. I'd just hunt around the red alliance boards for that sort of thing.
