Finally got a decent rig together, it isn't much but I am excited to finally have some gear I really like. Bungee sling, bladder pouch, plate carrier and mag pouch are all OE TECH, the dump pouch is Pantac and the Admin pouch is Eagle.

I have seen one of those before, a member of Vendetta uses it. It has built in foam padding or something... All I know is it didn't fit me, so I didn't like it... LOL

Yeah it is meant for larger people.. I have it worked out so it will stay mostly in place but it will take a little work to make it fit properly.. And yes it does have foam padding which i would assume all plate carriers have.

I think Dewk counts as a "larger" person, haha, but so do I! you skinny airsofters don't have to look as hard for gear that will fit you, I'll be sure to put some pictures up soon of my loadout, seeing as it's full and works.

Wrong!

Finding gear that fits me is a pain in the ass. Up until two years ago I couldn't even get a MOLLE belt that fit me. I'm not even that small. I feel sorry for guys like Jin.

Dayton is absolutely correct, Check this page of the thread to see my gear, minus some newer aditions ---> viewtopic.php?f=63&t=18553&start=500

Trippy... In a contest of "who is skinnier" between you and a stick bug, I would have to pick you.....

EDIT: BTW. No plate carriers have built in foam padding, and technically yours is not a PC because, well, it can't accept plates... LOL Just throwing that one out there....

Are you talking about the Condor Compact Plate Carrier that Miker posted above? I know for a fact it will accept plates, I have the same vest. It does have some built in padding as well, along the inside of the vest there is foam with ventilation veins running through it - which both adds padding and helps it the breath as well. Many plate carriers have this feature, I think Blackhawk was one of the first to do it and many others have since adopted the technique.

By foam padding, are you referring to sewn in foam as fake soft armor? In which case, you may be correct, I don't know. However, some RS gear does have sewn in soft armor (or can be purchased w/ it), or you might be referring to the padding mentioned by Bunny (I'm not 100% sure where you or Miker were going with foam comments). Additionally, where did you hear that the Condor Compact PC didn't accept plates? That PC is a copy of a RS variant/basic design and the RS version(s) is designed to take plates; don't forget that plates come in many shapes, sizes, and materials (not just XL - SAPI).

Leave him be. There's nothing wrong with needing to wear a PACA to help gear fit right...

I don't even have any plates in mine, I think elona said something about some foam inserts to keep the shape of a true plate carrier, what do you guys use? (assuming you use some kind of foam material)

I JUST received some custom cut High-Density foam inserts, and put them into my weesatch. They make it fit so much better. Much more comfortable for me too, though some people feel they dont need the extra weight or bulk. Myself, I am already bulky, so it dosen't mind me lol

My new loadout:

Pantac CIRAS-L

Image

- x2 BHI M4 mag pouches
- BHI admin panel with Phantom Warrior flashlight
- BHI double pistol mag pouch

Image

- BHI radio pouch with Motorola MTS2000 and Colbalt throat mic
- BHI strobe pouch with MS2000 rescue strobe
- BHI grenade pouch
- Pantac vertical GP pouch with 100MPH tape, paracord, beef jerky, BHI CQD Mark 1 knife
- BHI hydration pouch
- BHI flash bang pouch with VFC gas charger
- Pantac horizontal GP pouch with spare battery, dead rag, barrel blocker

Glacier Tek cool vest

- Those who know me on this board, know I sweat profusely at games. This is probably the best airsoft purchase I have ever made. Feels very comfortable underneath the CIRAS. I wore it on a run around downtown (without the CIRAS) and it lasted the entire time, in fact it was mostly still frozen.

ya thats me dewk i got it in black, it was the only affordable plate carrier i could find that wasnt hanging down like half way between my waist and knees and didnt flop around all over the place when i run. And they weren't foam plates i just made ghetto ones out of cardboard to stiffen it up a bit :D

Hey all,

Figured it was time to share my thoughts on this subject. This is my rig:

Image
Chest Rig by coltthetower47, on Flickr

The base chest rig platform is a Condor Gen.4 MOLLE OPS Chest Rig in multicam. The magazine pouch is a Condor triple AR/AK Magazine Pouch in multicam and the dump pouch is a Condor/Phantom foldable dump pouch in multicam.

My inspiration for this rig was my play style. I'm 15 and like to run, so I decided I needed a rig that would suit that. This rig can fit 9 mags while taking up little MOLLE room and the dump pouch can carry all of those easily while keeping out of the way. The whole deal is super light and doesn't have a big back panel on it so it actually can breathe unlike a full-encompasing vest. It carries all I need for a game and nothing more. I don't need to carry a real tournicquette and a pack of big league chew onto the field so why add weight with random pouches? And for a bonus it comes in multicam to match the team camo... so yay.

As for the gear I wear outside of the rig:
1.) Tru Spec multicam long sleeve T-Shirt. Might not be as legit as an ACU top but its cheaper and breathes better.
2.) Propper multicam BDU pants. Button closure pockets versus velcro closure pockets? Not a big deal.
3.) Condor multicam cap. It comes in Multicam and covers my head.
4.) ESS NVG goggles with Cortex Clip. Best. Goggles. EVER. I have one frame with tinted lenses and one frame with untinted (essentially two pairs) and they both have the nose piece. These things are great and will only fog if you get direct contact from sweat on the inside.
5.) OD shemagh. I like my teeth in my mouth.
6.) Nike 6.0's. They fit comfy, don't give me blisters and I can run in them all day every day.
7.) OD gripper glove liners. They are like thin socks for you hands and I usually only wear them in the winter.
8.) OD Condor kneepads. Need to be replaced but they cover my knees and look cool doing it.

Thanks hope this helps,

Now that I have mostly shaken down my new rig, I post photos.

Condor CIRAS-MAR
Image
OE Tech Map Pouch
Tru-Spec Frag Pouches
Condor? Double Shingle Pouches
Condor Double M4 Pouches

Image
Pantac Single M4 Pouch
Condor? MAP
Condor Radio Pouch
Condor Dump Pouch

Since I hate running into situations where I lack the proper tool for the job and am not an overly swift individual, I like to run heavy, as anyone who saw me at Vigilance can attest. The need for more storage is what ultimately pushed me to replace my aging crossdraw.

On the front I have a Condor Map Pouch. In addition to its primary function, it can carry other crap ala an admin pouch and provides front velcro. I have not yet decided if this will stay. It hangs a bit too low over the shingle pouches for my liking. They are still accessible, but I am going to run a few more games before I make up my mind. If it goes, I have a Pantac Small Admin pouch to replace it and will stick with my arm mounted TAG map pouch (not pictured). Next are the Tru-Spec Frag Pouches. For most games these will probably hold a kill rag and my 1000 round BB bottle. I have kept teammates in play more times than I recall by throwing ammo at them, and spare ammo keeps me in the field all day. The current arrangement is a step down from the 2k bottle I usually carry, but it saves an M4 pouch. The frag pouches also nicely fit TLSFx ball grenades. I was never a fan of shingle pouches, but these came with the vest, so I gave them a try, and I have liked them enough to not remove them. The previous owner removed the bungies, but I have not had any problems with magazine retention. The rest of the pouches are Condor Double M4s. I wanted to have at least 8 M4 pouches on my front because I also use them as general storage for Tornado grenades, Thunder Bs, speedloaders and BB Bottles. I could also carry my spare Saber if I needed two radios to be a comm specialist or something. In the end I have 6, which is fine because the ones lost to the shingles would have been holding magazines anyway.

On the back we have an inverted Pantac Single M4 Pouch as sort of an experiment. I mounted it there because those MOLLE loops were just sitting there being useless, and I already had the pouch. The intent is to use it to carry two additional "last ditch" magazines. I can pull mags out well enough, but getting them back in is a real pain. In the middle is the MAP/HBC2/whatever it is. It came with the vest. Holds the water bladder and all kinds of other stuff. Condor Radio Pouch for my Saber or Saber II. After much trial and error, I found this worked best on my right side with the cord coming up under the arm. And finally a Condor dump pouch. I should almost have two of these because I frequently carry so many magazines that they will not all fit in a single dump pouch. Additionally, when I carry my Alias MKX rocket launcher, the spare NERF rockets go in the dump pouch. Not pictured is the tac belt with a SERPA where I carry my M9.

My usual loadout in this is:
9x M4 Midcaps (now +2 in the back)
1x 1000-round BB Bottle
2x M16 Speedloaders
3x Grenades (Tornadoes/Thunder Bs)

HAHAHAHAHA TOO MANY MAGS ON FRONT OF CHEST!!!! IT'S YOURS NOW!!! LOL... jk DZ, I like it, though I doubt it would ever fit me... But like I said, I think you have too many mags on the front of your chest, for me at least. Maybe find a way to space them out? I know you can attach pouches to the sides, its all MOLLE, but there is just no backing, but it would work.... Just a thought....

I tried the 3-deep shingle setup before ... I got rid of it. It'll bang on things in close quarters and if you ever go prone you'll turn into a seesaw.

I only have one single shingle as of right now, I have more on the way. I may also add some to the sides to keep with the lowpro look.

My gear loadout is mainly composed of ACU.... i know its not the best, but personaly, i like it. Its best niche is durring the early spring, or late fall when everything is without leaves. When the area is mainly greys and light browns ..... thats where the ACU succedes.... its diecent all the other times.... but is deffinetly suprassed by Multicam....

This picture was taken a month ago, my loadout isnt yet complete.... I have yet to take one riecently, and will post it when i do.
im in the middle, on the left is my brother Nick, on the right is my friend David

Two out of three with fingers on the triggers, and no eye pro.

Good work.

You seem embarrased of your ACU lol... I personally think the pattern is very cool no matter how useless it is...

nope, not usually.... it just comes in handy if theres a problem.... and its nice to have something to cut the ductape because the ACU tape is way different from standard ducktape.... it doesnt like to rip... I usually need to resort to a knife so i dont ruin it...
^ you might also notice that my fullseal goggles arent there, thats because there in my car.... i forgot them in the trunk... lol....

I find it interesting that whenever someone under the age of 30 posts something, they are immediately targeted by older members as being "young, foolish, and stupid." Just my perception
