I've prepped this rig for OP:Breakdown. I think its about ready. I may add one more pouch, we'll see. I decided to ditch a sidearm GBB, as it is really a liability for losing items, and requires care/work/gas. As fun as they are, I have officially decided against them for skirmishing. Instead, I have decided to go with my MP5-J as a sidearm. I was able to fit it really nicely into a hydration pouch. I bought two pouches, one for hydration, and one for use as a scabbard.

Primary M4 mags across the front
Secondary MP5 mags in a pouch on the right side
two dump pouches on the left (one for dump and one for carrying food or other)
two hydration pouches on the back (one hydration, one for scabbard)
butt pack for utility
pistol mag pouches for pistol-mag style loaders

I have another pistol mag pouch that I may use for deadrag/snickers, but I still need a place for radio.
I also prefer leaving the front upper left chest open for shouldering a rifle stock.

Nice man, that MP-5 looks surprisingly out of the way. With the water off center on your back, does it feel lopsided?

I actually havent tested yet, as they just came. Hopefully the mp5 will balance some of it out.

We'll really see after a fully weekend of use...if my back has horrible knots along one side...

It's not that bad. I ran my rig in the exact same way for quite a while but with a Marushin M500 instead of the MP5 and had no problems.

Even now that I don't have the scabbard on there I haven't bothered moving my hydration system back to the center. It actually feels nice when I have my weapon slung.

Have you tried one of those paintball pistol holsters that just so happens to fit an MP5? That might be a little more ergonomical.

having a mp5 on your thigh would not be better... a mp7 is hard enough, a full size mp5 would not be comfortable. The scabbard is a good idea in my opinion

I had originally planned on something like that or crafting my own holster, but from the get-go i knew my main requirement would be having the weapon on my back. It is totally out of the way, yet I have very easy access to it. This pouch does exactly what I want, and perfectly.

I think by the time you buy enough BBs to fill those saw pouches, you probibly could have afforded another rig. :P

You forgot the copious amounts of sex that floweth from that rig.

How do the A&K box mags fit in those pouches? Is there a lot of give or are they pretty snug?

SNUG! Very SNUG!

I carry over 50lbs of crap and that does not include 5 lbs of water on my back. But I never have to leave the field of play (unless a weapon goes down). I always carry spare batteries (all shapes and sizes) for me and team mates. I carry spare M4 Magazines for myself and teammates. I can also run with my rig (even though it is a slow jog).

Sarcasm, pappi.

So what's your radio setup? It looks also expensive and worthwhile, and must be better than my $1.27 rig.

A kilo bag was in reference to a Kilo bag of BB's (125K) and not a form of illegal substance that is put into your nose......

I have two of these vests! One TAN and one OD. My OD Rig is set up to be my rifleman rig. However, the SAW rig can also be used as a rifle man too.

hey Jonsey,

I was looking at your HSGI D.A.C.H. Chest Harness, and was wondering if one of those pouches on the front could fit 2 G36 mags clipped together? I'm looking at putting together a G36 rig.

Thanks

Updated since I have made a few changes.

Image

The base platform is a set of Blackhawk suspenders (the older style) with the new Blackhawk MOLLE-style STRIKE belt. I thought that the "desert" color of the suspenders was too light, so I painted it with Krylon.

1. Tactical Tailor hydration pouch. I am thinking about replacing this one with the Condor, because from what I've been able to see the Condor pouch is larger.

2. Tactical Tailor smoke grenade pouch. Used as a radio case.

3. Maxpedition small TacTile (one on each side). For carrying small items, bug juice, mission info, medic cards, dead rag, etc.

4. Tactical Tailor double magazine pouches. Each holding 2 M16 mags with magpuls.

5. CTD molle-type double-mag shingle with a pistol mag pouch attached. Holds 2 M16 mags and 3 M1911 mags. Mag pouch is from an unknown source off eBay.

6. Official AR15.com logo Maxpedition Rolypoly, used as a dump pouch.

7. 100-round SAW pouch, loaded with a speedloader and two BB bottles.

8. Cold Steel training knife in a SpecOpsBrand sheath. There is a Leatherman multi-tool in the sheath pocket. This is also mounted on a CTD shingle, which holds 2 M16 mags.

9. Blackhawk SERPA holster with my trusty M1911, also mounted to the shingle.

10. Maxpedition Grimlock, used for routing my hydration tube.

11. A D-ring I use for attaching a single-point sling. This is also the anchor point for my USGI pistol lanyard.

Image

This is my "older school" rig. I use it when I don't feel like wearing multicam. The base platform is another set of Blackhawk suspenders mounted on a Specialty Defense MOLLE belt. When using this rig I wear my pistol in a GI shoulder holster.

1. CTD Hydration Pouch.

2. USGI ALICE M16 magazine pouches. Mounted to the belt using MALICE clips. 4 hold 2 mags each, and the 5th holds a speedloader and BB bottles.

3. I forgot to number anything with 3. So let's move on.

4. Double pistol mag pouch. Unknown manufacturer.

5. Maxpedition Mega-rolypoly, used as a dump pouch. This thing is HUGE! I am thinking of replacing it with a smaller one. It's big enough to hold a Minneapolis phone book.

6. Rubber M9 bayonet.

7. Specialty Defense smoke grenade pouch, used as a radio pouch.

Very nice kit Erik!

I'm usually not a big fan of MOLLE gear, mainly due to the bulkiness, but I dig your multicam setup. It seems quite light, practical, and comfortable. I may have to use that basic design as a base if I ever get around to putting together a MOLLE system loadout :)

I don't personally like vests for outdoor use (I have tried a few). Because I used the LBE system in the Army, it's what is familiar and comfortable to me.

I have to be honest though, when fully loaded, it's not a lightweight setup by any means.

nice setup eric , and coming from navy strong arm security ( weird navy term for navy swat) we used a similar LBE system and to be honest although its not light by any means it seems to be a little more secure not to mention comfortable....I guess it depends on what your used to... A tac vest seems restrictive to me ,and I like to be as mobile as possible .

The LBE is a basically USGI M56 gear, Vietnam era.
-M56 H-suspenders
-M56 general purpose pouch (x2) for mags
-M56 canteen pouch(x2)
-M56 web belt
-M56 compass/first aid pouch located on sholder, with dead rag inside
-7 pocket cloth bandolier for more mags(real vietnam 20 round mags loaded with dummy rounds)
-M18 smoke grenade(x2)
-M67 fragmentation grenade(x3)

Pros:
Very simple loadout, the LBE suspenders are not restrictive of movement and don't trap in heat like a vest does, plus theres no velcro, so changing mags can be done quietly. I can carry essentially everything I need with me, with the addition of a buttpack if nessisary. Or the Light Weight Rucksack for longer field ops.

Cons:
Belt/pouches can become uncomfortable on the hips after a while. The dummy frags, smoke grenades, and bandolier of mags can be a bit loud clanking against eachother, so the loadout isn't exactly the quietest when on the run... however, when I creep around slow I can keep noise to a minimum and still sneak up on people.

My loadout is nearly spot on %100 accurate Vietnam US Army grunt. Only inaccuracy really is the goggles I wear when I play.

I believe they might fit, although they would be snug. Two AK mags fit with room to spare, as do three M4 mags.

Ok here is my kit as of now, not pictured is my camelbak. I have about 6 to choose from so I decided to leave that out. Anyways onto the rig...

Here is the front of my HSGI Weesatch.

- ( 1 ) Blackhawk Ind. m67 frag pouch
- ( 1 ) USGI Issue m67 frag pouch
- ( 2 ) Tactical Tailor m16 shingles
- ( 2 ) Blackhawk Ind. pistol mag pouches
- ( 1 ) Large SAPI plate
- ( 1 ) Name Tape
- ( 2 ) HGSI shoulder pads

I run 10 Mags, in the frag pouches I carry my GPS and Bino's.

Image

Here is the back of my Weesatch, I had the bottom of it shortened up and cut the strap into 2 pieces then sewed them separately.

- ( 1 ) Large SAPI plate
- ( 1 ) Name Tape
- ( 1 ) Piece of glint tape

Also the pics are not of the best quality, I am using a iphone.

This is my CMU 33 AIRSAVE vest setup. The vest is made of tightly woven net material which breathes quite well. It is fully MOLLE compatible.
1). Airsave misc. pouch. The vest came with 5 of them. They fit 2 M-16 magazines or 1 G-3 or M-14 magazine each.
2). Condor gadget pouch. Holds gadgets good...
3). Shotgun shell pouch.
4). Hydration pouch carrier.
5). Airsave pistol holster. It has a magazine pouch attached on the outside. It holds a M1911 securely.
6). Airsave knife sheath. I have it mounted on a flap of excess vest material in the inside of the vest. I don't have a knife for it yet.
Gotta get back in the game.

Just finished my new outdoor carry-all vest - just in time for Thunder.

Image

The base is a BHI STRIKE harness with a BHI hydration system mounted on the back.

On the right side is a Condor 3x2 M-4 mag pouch. Next to that is a Tactical Taylor modular zippered accessory pouch which holds bug spray, duct tape, electrical tape, zip ties, ect. Attached to that is a TT multi-tool pouch with a Gerber multi-tool in it. Below is a double frag pouch, which holds a spare dead rag and a goggle rag. Above, on the harness strap, is a TT small accessory pouch which holds snacks at large games, and is a storage space for my barrel blocker while on the field.

Image

On the left side is a Condor 3x3 mag pouch. Behind that is a TT zippered accessory pouch for whatever else I need to carry. Spare ammo / speed loaders if I need then, medic slips / bandages if I need them, spare batteries for guns or radios, snacks, whatever. Above on the harness strap is a Condor double pistol mag pouch which holds spare pistol mags (!) or a spare battery.

Image

Total mag capacity is 15 M-4 mags and either 2 gas mags or 3 AEP mags (in one slot of the double pistol pouch, with a spare mini-battery in the other). In the future I plan on replacing all the Condor M-4 mag pouches with a total of 6 Tactical Taylor 3x M-4 mag pouches.

Can't wait for Thunder!

Here is my new P90 loadout....

Base vest is a TT plate carrier.

Front:
--BHI pop flare pouches X6
--Pantac silencer pouch (holds QD madbull gemtech silencer)
--Inova 24/7 light

Image

Back:
--BHI hydration carrier
--P90 mag pouch
--CTD double grenade pouch
--CTD EMT pouch
--CTD M4 shingle to hold my M4 speedloader (not pictured)

Image

Belt:
--BHI riggers belt
--pantac double pistol mag pouch
--Maxpedition Mega Rollypoly
--BHI serpa holster for my TM USP AEP

whole loadout pic:
Image

Pros:
-light weight
-slim profile
-great maneuverability
-got just the essentials to get to job done
-a lot cooler (in terms of temp) then my last P90 rig
-can easily come off

Cons:
-not much room for utility
-got to find a place for my radio

comments:
I designed this rig for speed, and manouvrability. This will be great for being a medic (which i much enjoyed at breedland, and hope to play the medic role in later ops). Also because of the slim profile it will complement the great CQB capabilities of the P90.

If you got any questions or comments ask away....

I run a Phantom CIRAS - Khaki. Forgive the OD pouches here and there. I don't have the dinero to replace them right now, but they will be all khaki/tan come next season.

You'll have to ignore the goop alllll over my hydro pack....that's what you get for playing at SFP (sigh). And yes, that's a custom armor stand 8)

Phantom CIRAS - Land
OETech M4 pouches
CTD medical pouch
OETech Hydration pack
OETech general purpose pouch
Maxpedition radio holder

Inspired by people who wear CIRAS's

There now I should be in the "rules"

Your P90 rig is looking more and more like mine.

Eagle Industries RRV, Cummerbund, and Backplate
(1) 3 Magazine Shingle
(2) Double Magazine Pouches
(2) Frag Pouches
(1) GP Pouch
(1) IFAK
(1) Radio Pouch

I decide to go with this setup because its very customizable, I can wear a Circa's style setup or remove the cummerbund and use it as a front and back plate. I also have the option to drop the cummerbund and backplate and just use the RRV which pays off in the summer. The only real thing I don't like is that is a bit too big for me, nothing too bad but the RRV folds up around my waist. I also plan on using this rig for a support gunner type role.
BTDT got the T shirt, sweatpants and disability check.
