Purpose of this Forum, Please Read!

Post by Wolfwood » Fri Apr 29, 2005 3:36 pm

The purpose of this forum is to facilitate the Southern Area of Minnesota in running succesful games and open sessions. This means use of this forum is limited to posts in relation to games carried out in Southern Minnesota, or syncing up with other players in the area to get to Airsoft games. This is not a completly new board for users to talk about whatever they want. Posts regarding general airsoft, guns discussion, OT, etc will be moved to the appropriate sections. Repeated violations of this rule are subject to whatever the moderators deem neccesary. Anyone and everyone is welcome to post in this section. Thank you, and enjoy!

(For Erik)

The MAA is committed to ensuring that Airsoft is played in a safe and legal manner. We are wll too aware that unsafe Airsoft play endangers life and property and could bring the sport into disrepute.

The MAA recommends that players attend only MAA-Sanctioned events where the MAA Charter and Safety Rules are followed.

The MAA reminds everyone that games posted in the Southern Minnesota Section are NOT MAA SANCTIONED. The MAA assumes no responsibility for any illegal acts, injuries, civil liability, or criminal prosecution which arises from games posted in this forum.

Players are strongly cautioned that unlawful and unsafe Airsoft can result in the following negative actions, including, but not limited to:

1. Police responding with deadly force.
2. Arrest and criminal prosecution of participants.
3. Civil liability, to include lawsuits.

Players are also reminded that a minor - any person under 18 - cannot assume or absolve any civil liability. In the event a minor is involved in a civil lawsuit, the minor's parents are liable WHETHER OR NOT THEY ARE PRESENT.

The MAA reserves the right to report unlawful and/or dangerous activity to the proper authorities and other 3rd parties. We also reserve the right to lock/delete topics which mention potentially unlawful or unsafe acts.

It is not the intention of the MAA to suppress open playing sessions; we merely are concerned about our own liability and the preservation of the Airsoft hobby. The MAA Safety Manual contains detailed information about how to set up an open game which is safe and legal.

Please direct any concerns regarding this post to the MAA Safety Officer. (ERIK)

(for Erik)

Pending approval from the MAA Moderation Team, we will require the following information be posted in all threads for S. MN sessions:

1. Full name of responsible ADULT - person over 18 - who is sponsoring the game.

2. Name and contact information for person giving permission for land use. This person MUST be an adult and a legitimate representative of the land owner.

3. Name of law official and/or agency contacted about the game.

Here is a sample of how I would have posted this info for a skirmish at Ham Lake:

Sponsor: Erik D. Pakieser
Landowner Representative: Dan Nelson (caretaker) 763-555-1212
Law Enforcement Notification: Anoka County Sheriff's Office, Sgt. Glen Rodgers

MAA-Recognized, established playing venues - OASIS, 82nd Recon, Combat Paintball, Thunder Alley, etc. are exempt from this policy.

Please direct any questions to me. Thanks for your cooperation.
