Erik's Douchebag of the Week: New Douchebag added 10-6-08

Post by Erik » Thu Oct 02, 2008 9:38 am

: UpD-bag of the Week of October 1, 2008

This week's D-bag hails from Bremerton, Washington. Police say that Bradley Rood, 29, opened fire with an Airsoft gun on a woman who was holding a baby. Both the mother and her 8-month old child were hit several times. The infant was hospitalized with welts on her head, but appears to be doing fine.

Rood was apparently hiding in a concealed position in his apartment complex and opened fire on the mother and child while they were in the parking lot.

Bradley Rood, you are a D-bag.

............WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Ok how does this make sense:
“The next thing I know I'm getting shot all over with a pellet gun,” Gleave said. “I couldn't see anybody. He was hiding and he just kept going and shooting and I was like, what the heck?”
The guy claims he WASN'T aiming at her
HOW CAN YOU REPEATEDLY SHOOT SOMEONE IF YOU ARE NOT AIMING AT THEM!!!!

Ya know in modern society I'd prefer to think that a 29 YEAR-OLD would have the common sense to not decide "hey I think I'm going to go shoot a gal and her child in public with a gun that looks real!" I must say though he had to have a pretty wicked gun for it to be shooting "600 FPS" they really should work more on facts when reporting. I know in journalism for every fact I get wrong I lose half a letter...

Understood, but one might assume maturity might play some role in all this.

Oh it does and it gets posted on Youtube.

This happens far more then is reported.

Erik's Douchebag of the Week for October 6th, 2008

http://blog.oregonlive.com/wilsonville/ ... _wodd.html

This week's douchebags are three un-named students from the Wood Middle School near Wilsonville, Oregon.

Disregarding Federal and State Laws, as well as long-established safety procedures, they brought an Airsoft gun to school on the bus, where one of them negligently fired it, injuring at least one other student.

Now, I won’t debate the merits of Federal and State laws pertaining to the possession of guns in school. Like it or not, an Airsoft gun fits the definition of these laws, and possession of one in school (including a school bus) is a serious violation of the law.

Violating the law aside, at one point during this remarkable lapse in judgment, one or more of the d-bags decided to shoot the gun – on the bus.

BTW, to the author of this story: guns don’t “go off” by themselves. They fire because someone presses the trigger. In this case, the finger on the trigger belonged to one of these three douchebags.

A quick note to these three and similar douchebags: there is a TIME and PLACE for Airsoft. Any MORON should be able to figure out that a school bus is neither the proper time nor place.

The three stooges are facing expulsion, which is kind of sad, really. They obviously need an education. It’s too bad the school doesn’t teach common sense.

Are these going to be the safety things you wanted to post to the safety blog as well?

Haha this thread is wonderfully depressing (oxymoron?). I needed to post something so I could quickly check if there are new posts on my "view your posts" link.

I nominate:

Police dash cam(Video released October 22/08)EL PASO, Texas:A police officer involved in a deadly shooting is back at work after being cleared by a grand jury.

Video of the June shooting released Wednesday(October 22/08)shows the suspect appearing to point a small revolver at El Paso police Office Matthew Jones before Jones takes cover and fires several times. Gregory Smith, 48, suffered a doze More..n wounds from 11 shots and died in the motel parking lot where he was shot.

In the brief dash camera video, Jones tries to arrest Smith before taking cover and firing as Smith lunges toward him with what police now say was a toy.

An El Paso County grand jury declined to indict Jones on Tuesday.

That is like so far beyond this kid stuff, it ain't even funny.

Really, as your being arrested, to pull out a toy gun, AND threaten the armed officer with it.

Man... Just wow.

I second your nomination, though I guess on this one a Darwin award might be in order as well.

Yeah, a Darwin award would be much more 'appropriate' than Douchebag...

How anyone decides that drawing a toy gun on an armed police officer is a good idea is well beyond my mental capacities.

I certainly support the motion for Darwin Award candidate.

Eric, instead of being a D-Bag, this guy seems to be more like a dumbs*** to me. Anyway, it's sad that those few stupid people can cause drastic putdown to our sport. What an idiot.
