CM028 replacment parts

Post by Elkien3 » Thu Sep 03, 2015 6:39 pm

I bought the CM028 AK style AEG from a friend, and he advised me to learn the insides and out of the gun, so I decided to take it apart.
the disassembly went smooth up until I lost 2 of the tiny nuts that hold the bolts/screws near where the mag goes.
I took it to Mills Fleet Farm, RadioShack, and Home Depot (respectively), and found out that they are 4-40, but even if the nut fit on the bolt, I would have to do some trimming to get it to fit into the gun. (and I have no idea how to trim a nut)

so my question is: is there any way I could find and buy nuts that are the exact model of the ones I lost.

thank you! :)

They are not 4-40...it should be metric.

Instead. Try a hardware store for the Metric nuts you need.
I rather use a "nightmare" that shoots like a dream over something that looks like a "dream" but shoots like a nightmare.

Don't fear the gun...fear the one that's wielding it!

Try Ace Hardware. They have a better selection than the places you've already tried.
As Guges said, it should be metric, probably an M3 or M4.

Ace has them. And they are metric. Ace has every screw/nut you'll ever need.
