Saw these a few weeks ago on the Asian Market, and it looks like they are now hitting the States. My main question is: Do these have any resemblance to a gun that actually exists?

I have been seeing videos for these too, and they look interesting. The fact that it is APS is a huge mark against it, but I saw at least one positive review, so maybe they are getting their act together.

On ASMs forums, a Chinese guy who claimed to be at (HK Toy Fest or something) and handled it said it has a ABS body, not that great etc...but IDK, no credentials.

[quote=" My main question is: Do these have any resemblance to a gun that actually exists?[/quote] I think it looks like a cross between a magpul PDW-R and a TAR-21 with the RIS from an AUG. I kind of like it :) .

Personally, I don't think it looks all that bad. Yeah it's not based off a real gun, but it doesn't really matter in airsoft.

After watching CrazyNCman's video of it, maybe APS is stepping up their game? I would love to get my hands on the gun just to see how it feels. APS's first run of guns were horrible, but that doesn't mean they didn't listen to feedback and stepped it up a bit.

I'll stay open minded with this gun, until further details come out of it's quality.

Well, from a little searching, I think I know what they partially based the design on:

They tweaked some details, but, they also have a lot similar. I wish a company would just actually make a true to form AUG A3 :|

I was able to get out and shoot mine yesterday, but the exercise was basically just to test magazine feeding. Good thing I did too. None of my midcaps wanted to feed reliably. You could hear the BBs release when a mag was inserted, but after 1-2 rounds they all stopped feeding. Whacking the magazine might get you another two rounds, but the feed issue made the weapon basically unusable. Some internet searching seems to indicate that mine is not a unique issue either. Tested magazines included regular MAG M4s and those newer KWA sorta Pmags. I did not bring the APS hicaps to test, but I also found reports of them not feeding well.

The gun itself seemed to cycle well. Hopefully I can find a simple fix for feeding issues to give it a real test.

From what I have seen it has an issue with mids feeding/locking into place simar to the f2000. I have read that hicaps are fine.

See Booligans review for the modification to the mag well.

While the weapon does have a similar magazine issue as the F2000, which I also own, this is not it, at least not exactly. The magazines lock in fine. They just do not feed reliably once there. My MAGs were previously modified for the F2000, and the tops of the KWAs were already short enough to fit.

I wonder is the MAGPUL PDR is the APS UBR reskinned....hmmmm.
I rather use a "nightmare" that shoots like a dream over something that looks like a "dream" but shoots like a nightmare.

Don't fear the gun...fear the one that's wielding it!

Gearboxes aren't even close.

ThePDR's gearbox looks like a TAR gearbox to some degree, and has an integrated feed tube.

TheAPS UAR gearbox is apparently called a "hybrid"; it looks like a V2 with a motor cage.
