I have applied duracoat to entire weapons.

It wears awesome, and they have numerous camo patterns and stencils.

i never actually have seen how water transfer is done until that video. That's weird they just stick it in a water filled tub with the film and pull it out with the image perfectly on it. Duracoat would work well though i have wondered how well it would work to paint a gun camo using an airbrush.

Does anyone know if there is a type of paint that an airbrush can take that could be used on a gun? I'm pretty sure airbrush paint has to have some specific properties and I'm not sure that anything that would wear well for gun camo would work with an airbrush...

Duracoat is an airbrush finish that comes in a multitude of color / camo combos with precut stencils.

It is basically a high tech paint that can be applied to any wood, metal or plastic, given the correct prep of the surface.

It is sold in kit forms with the option of a mix yourself aerosol if you do not happen to have an airbrush.

Although not exactly bulletproof, in my experience it was tough as nails in a wear factor.

oh thanks moose, I didn't really expect duracoat to be airbrush-compatible. Now to find a good airbrusher

It is made as a DIY kit from Duracoat.

The mix yourself aerosols are as easy to use as a can of spray paint.

The stencils make the camo application pretty easy.

I think something small like a light switch panel, or duck call would be a good tester...
