New build.
G&P air force lower, had to swap out the upper for a different g&p version, a DD 9 replica rail, g&p stock, foam banana and a P* to sling the BBs.

...The upper looks suspiciously similar to Miker's upper (except for the barrel length) on "his" G&P (until he sold it)...

Yes. It's leather chord I wrapped around it to make the otherwise abysmal AKS stock a little more comfortable.
Trippy wrote:I think it would look better with an off brand tac light. Thin leather sling, well worn receiver, and a name brand light. It doesn't mesh.
Most of the photos I've seen from Sochi so far have shown weapon lights that are either western name-brand or specifically Russian designs that I don't recognize. The same goes with optics as well, almost every optic I've seen on rifles has been an Aimpoint. Also, I did this with what I happened to have laying around at the time - which was a Surefire G2.

Nice looking HK45! Have you considered accessorizing it with a light? Only wish KWA came out from a HK45CT...

Base models are G&P M4 MOE and G&P M5

Big thanks to Guges! He found all the parts I wanted and did all the custom work. Both guns have LMT lowers and motor upgrades. The PEQ15 on the M4 is operational and features infrared laser/flashlight and red beam :)

It's an aps guardian. comes in 8, 10, and 13 in both black and tan/de. I have the 13 black. Here is a closer shot of the rail.

It's beautifully made, easy to install, very solid mount, and with the repositionable rails it has great versatility. I love it.

Finally finished the MP5 I've been tinkering with for years!

Image

It's a TM mechbox, CA metal body, TM front RIS, Nitro top rail, Magpul RVG and finger stop kit, Nebo Protech HP190 weapon light, and Primary Arms Microdot. Thank to Gugues especially for finding the Nitro rail for me!

And a new family photo:

On the bottom of the AR mags? Yes, those are just gorilla tape.

Paracord, can't remember the length I use but you melt both ends so they get a "lip". Place the paracord in a loop on the bottom of the mag, wrap it with 100mph (duct) tape in the color of your choice. Make sure the lip is sticking outside of the tape so when you pull on the magpul, the paracord doesn't slip out. I did this like 2-3 years ago to a bunch of my midcaps, after countless games they're still holding up.

Edit: If you're using M4 mags, use the grooves in the mag to place your paracord.

mhofstad wrote:Ok. I have been experimenting with homemade magpul designs so I was curious what u had done.
I actually started doing this before Magpul was really popular, first with 100mph tape and then later with Gorilla Tape. The trick is getting a design that won't collapse easily as a mag pull that's all bunched up against the floor plate of the mag you're trying to grab doesn't do you a whole lot of good. This is where my early 100mph tape designs mostly failed, and the same problem I have with a lot of the parachord options. Gorilla tape is stiff enough that it holds its shape well, and you can gut parachord and insert something to stiffen it as well (such as part of a zip tie like you mentioned).

These days real Magpuls are pretty cheap so you can get the real deal if you want, but when you have 20+ AR mags like I do it can still get pretty expensive. Also, real Magpuls tend to add quite a bit of thickness to the bottom of the mag and can make it difficult to get the mag into some double or triple pouches.
