Post Pics of your Gun - Part II

Post by Erik » Sun Nov 01, 2009 6:22 pm

The original thread got to 24 pages. It can be found here:

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=19742

Helpful hint: To overcome the annoying tendency of the board to cut off images, simply right click on the image and select "view image" to see the entire thing.

I'll start off with a gun I finished just tonight. "Finished" is a relative term; it's definitely fieldable, but I have additional plans for it.

Image

My original M203 fragged its mechbox and got parted out. I hadn't put much thought into another one until, while I was moving, I discovered a JG M16a2 in a box I thought was empty. I added an M4 barrel assembly, flattop receiver, mangonel rear sight, and D-Boys CASV. I'm particularly happy with the scratchbuilt gas tube, visible inside the CASV.

Future plans for this gun include a metal body and crane stock.

A little repost of my two favorite airsoft pistols.

Both made by Western Arms and are currently discontinued models. The first is a Beretta M92FS Perfect / DX Black Pearl Grip version and the second is a SV Infinity 6" Classic (SCW3 version with a WA original SCW2 hammer/sear/disconnector set, CP Ultralight SCW2 leaf spring, WA original SCW2 adjustable hopup with CP packing, 6.01mm PDI inner barrel, and SD magazine lips).

That's odd.... I followed Erick's link and made a post and I guess it started a new thread.

I'm not sure what the paper is, however the thing that looks like a glowstick is actually a glowstick

If he is imitating Spec ops weaponry then the piece of paper probly is a range dial in or a cheat sheet. Spec Ops typically stick them on thier stocks on the the DMR or long range rifleman for quick reference and stuff like that. Correct me if I am wrong Wargod.

There are two glowsticks attached to the stock for "force identifiers" as I've been told (inspiration taken from many Navy SEAL M4 pics. I also have some ziptied together on a carabiner hanging off my CIRAS). The piece of paper is an Arabic translation sheet. It has Arabic translations for "Don't shoot", "Drop your weapon", "Greetings", etc. Originally I was going to put CASEVAC and Air Strike stuff on there, but decided just for the Arabic. I might change the tape from clear tape to something more "in field" like 100mph tape to tape it down to the stock. Like I said, it's a mixup of USN EOD M4's and USN SEAL M4's. It's probably not completely accurate to either group so yeah.

I think that it is a nice touch by the way. Ever thought about a flip down BUIS for the front? It would compliment the CASV IMO.

I did some "upgrades" to my CASV. I added a 10" G&P M665 barrel, which was turned and polished to look like stainless steel, topped with a Noveske KX3. I also switched out the D-Boys CASV for the more realistic King Arms one, and added a full G&P gas tube assembly and a Tango Down style foregrip.

SICK :o
I can see some really good rebel type themes will work great with that setup. or even a Terminato theme. Does the M2 work Shady?
Also you can get a surplus ammo can tray for cheap. Unless you wanna make one.

I have been thinking of building one with a demilled M2 and using the internals from a A&K mk43 or a CA m249. So if this one Shady has is a funtioning one i will have to take a look at it for sure.

Why yes, yes it does. About 375 fps, last I checked. Box mag holds about 6k rounds. The inner barrel ends about 18 inches from the end of the outer, giving it an ungodly report when it's pointed at you. Think giant Noveski.

I assume that's the air-sharp M-2 it took you forever to get?

Thanks for all the compliments guys. (feel free to change your minds if you wind up facing it in a game! )

Yes Bunny, it is the Air-Sharp .50. It took me so long to get, I don't feel so bad about taking this long to mount it. :D

elonaman, the guts are a 249 box and hop-up. The gear box mount has a "tower" that interfaces the nozzle and hop-up. Hard to describe, you can see it when you get the chance. I'm not sure if a real ammo box tray would be too heavy for the carriage, it's all plastic. But if you find one for sale, let me know.

You may want to reconsider building one out of a de-milled. A functioning M2 weighs 86 lbs. Even gutting it and building aluminum receiver plates, that sucker is still gonna weigh at least 40. This one is a pain just because of the size, and it only weighs maybe 10lbs. By all means go for it, but plan on having a vehicle of some sort to mount it on. Unless, of course, you're going for some sort of brass balls award by lugging the heaviest known airsoft gun around a field. You'd get my vote. :D

it's nice to finally see that beast on vehicle. Does the gun mount traverse the ring or is it a fixed mount?

Just put this together tonight, it's a project I've been thinking about for a while.

The base gun is a JG M4 with the side-folding stock. These are not common in RS AR15s, but they can be installed with heavy modifications.

I shortened the barrel to 8" and added a First Factory SAS Direct Attachment and a Noveske KX3. You wouldn't want an open flashider on anything this short!

I plan on using this as a backup gun, it's compact enough I can bring it to the field and easily stage it with my gear.

AR Man strikes again!
Very slick little gas piston SBR Erik, I always like how you keep realism in mind when building a custom gun.

And Angry Russian, thanks much for the compliments on my pistols! When it comes to handguns I'm definitely a Western Arms fanboy

Every once in a while, when they aren't getting incinerated in lava, crushed under rock slides, or devoured by dragons, goblins experience moments of unmitigated glory in battle.

Wow Erik you have a lot of nice guns that are really unique. Same with Jin! It's cool to see them.
