I attended Breakdown II in period correct Russian equipment:

I enjoyed the game and would like to return.
As I collect equipment of the Russian FSB TsSN, it is rare to use it in a game where the scenario suits the equipment. I have 2 other FSB-minded friends who would also like to attend after my experiences last year.
However, with DCU being the only accepted uniform for the Russian (now American led) side, I have no interest in attending. I do not own the uniform and having spent the past few years collecting equipment of the group spending their waking hours eradicating Islamic radicals in Chechnya and the surrounding area, it is not even a little interesting to assume the role of fundamentalists in a game.
If the event organizers would like the event to be based purely on fiction and removed entirely from the realms of reality to suit their needs, fine. But it appears a lot of the event fiction includes reference to real life people, places, and events. And what a surprise, the VDV (Federal troops) and FSB are mentioned?
To me it would seem reasonable to include the Russian national pattern Flora, its digital replacement, and one of the more typical camouflage patterns used by the FSB such as SS-Fall or SS-Spring.
I understand the DCU decision from the game organizer perspective, but would it not be reasonable from the story side of the game to include Russians in the scenario...located in Russia? Also, with full kit including helmets and armor, would it not be simply to identify Russian kit as being Russian?
