Supressor/Silencer discussion is a no-no

Post by Rabid-Weasel » Mon Feb 17, 2014 9:14 pm

Based on the legalities of the afore mentioned topic I have decided that we are going to follow suit with other websites and limit discussion.

I'd say that any talk about making/modifying a mock suppressor so that it reduces the sound would be a no-go, as that technically is what would be illegal.

Because a popular thing to do with polarstars is to illegally modify a mock supressor through various means to reduce the sound of the air escaping the muzzle. Since there is no gearbox to make noise it makes the guns nearly silent.

IMO:

Discussing outer barrel extensions designed to look like suppressors, or mock suppressors that are purely cosmetic = OK

Discussing the fabrication, modification, purchase, or use of a suppressor that is intended to reduce the report of an airsoft gun = Not OK.

This post was made to let people know that in respect to this sub forum we will keep the discussion to a minimum. As Archer stated we are dealing with P*'s here and most people want them even quieter and we cannot discuss one major way to accomplish that.

You can do that old school paintball style...vent the barrel with a lot of little holes.
I rather use a "nightmare" that shoots like a dream over something that looks like a "dream" but shoots like a nightmare.

Don't fear the gun...fear the one that's wielding it!
