Re: What's a good website.

Also keep in mind that the core of midwestern airsofters are currently pursuing German Heer (army) and Soviet Rifle impressions. To date no organized/viable American airsoft force has taken shape. In the MOA we're also considering locking down one or two events a year to be east front only...whereas...

Re: Should I go German or American? (Loadout Q's)

They're different hobbies for sure, but they can both learn from the other.

Airsofters can be too lax on authenticity, but reenactors have major flaws too. In general I've found airsofters to be in better health and more capable of playing the role of a solider.

Chadwick is ultimately dead on...doing any impression "right" is going to cost you an arm and a leg. I do both German and Russian, but I have to admit that my standards for my Russian impression, which I view as secondary, are lower than my German impression. The main thing is to pick one thing and ...

The rest of the gang summed up everything perfectly. While I personally love doing German, I'd recommend that if you have an interest in doing American that you go that route. Why? Because we need a strong American unit in the Twin Cities to bolster allied numbers. It's an impression that is overdon...

The Gewehr 98 was used by Volksturm, home front and other irregular units during the war. I actually just gave an old beater 98 to Garrick hoping he can convert it into a springer. That would be a cool gun to have.

I'm be interested in hearing prices for the 1934s.

Ditto on the ATF jackboots. Over lunch today we went to a cobbler and turned our boots over to be resoled. For $200 they are a complete rip-off. For $220 you can get top notch reproductions that will last years.

Hi, Chadwick. For ease of maintaining the threads, we stopped posting the ww2 event threads in this area. Instead they are in the "Open Play Sessions, Skirmishes & Events" area of the board and are all prefixed with "ww2." It got to be too much of a hassle to duplicate content in two places.

ATF jackets can be okay with some alterations from a tailor. I personally love my Lost Battalions coat for the reasons Chaser mentions, but not everybody wants to drop $300 on a jacket. Some fairly simple alterations can make an ATF coat good to go. I also think one shouldn't get too dogmatic about ...
