ciin is right on. Higher compression=higher octane required to resist preignition (turbos and superchargers included) Larzon- it's more than likely something in the specific chemical makeup of the lower rated fuel that's affecting the diaphragms. Sorry to break this to you, but WWII items are no longer considered "surplus", you're talking about a conflict that ended 67 years ago. Those items are now "collectible memorabilia", and will carry a price tag that will reflect this. You really don't want to know how much I have invested in my Germa...

I agree with Rekkon, the JCS rockets fly the best. (I have also tested the MilSimLabs) As far as safety goes, i have dropped both Nerf Mini-Vortex and JCS rockets directly onto people's heads with no protection OR bad effects. Classic problem, there's worn/broken parts in the steering column. It's been ages since I've done one, but I'll bet if you go to the Ford parts counter and tell him what you've got happening, he'll be able to tell you what parts you need.

So I take it the battery took care of the issue?

And for the record, my '83 'yota Technical has somewhere around 550k on it, I'm not sure 'cause the odometer broke a while back. That's the second instrument cluster.
My new truck, an '89 has around 280k. 10 laps. Just broke in.

I bet a poor connection at the battery caused the low state of charge. Antitheft systems will typically prevent the engine from starting, not cut out the starter. Agree with Guges, your battery is weak. Make sure the connections at the battery are clean and tight, with NO blue "fuzz" growing on them. When they're good, jump start it or connect a charger, then have your electrical system tested by a professional.

You do not need the loops to use the Y straps unless you have no ammunition pouches for the front, as these are what the front of the straps attach to. Okay, so if so many guns are going south to Mexico, and it's such a huge problem, why does the Mexican government oppose closing that border? That would be step one, wouldn't it?

Because it is not the concern it is being made out to be. This is political opportunism, nothing more.
